You should start with the Starter kit. It contains everything you need to get started making your own Prosthetics. it comes with 1oz of paste which will allow you to make 8-10 prosthetics suing one of our kit

molds.

Is Monster Paste safe for the skin?

YES. it is made mostly from Pros-aide which is a very strong, non-toxic, waterproof adhesive It is gentle to all skin types, and will not be affected by perspiration or moisture. However DO NOT use around the eyes.

How long will it stay on for?

Good question, Dutch Bihary of Skin Wars, had one on for 16 days. he had to do minor touch ups here and there to smooth the edges but I would say on avarage just a few days.

Will they stay on in water?

Yes. they will stay on in water. you can wash them with soap and water too, just dont scrub or you may damage the edges. gently rum over with your finger.

After I mold them, how long can I store them for?

I do not have an exact answer, however I used one I made 7 months earlier and it worked perfectly, because the sticky side is covered in acetate, the air never gets to it and should last for over a year, but for now. Ill just say 7 months.

How should the pieces be stored once made?

You should store them flat. I pin mine to a cork board. You shouldn't store them pre-made with the transfer paper already on the piece, over time the transfer paper will press down enough to flatten out the piece.

How long do the pieces take to dehydrate?

This depends on how thick the mold sculpt is, the thicker the piece is, the longer it takes.

I try to keep the sculpts no more then 1/4" thick, in normal Florida heat it takes from 1-5 days to dehydrate. Using a food dehydrator it cuts the time in half or more.

How do I remove a piece?

The best remover is mineral oil (such as baby oil)

11

Is Monster paste like Zombie Skin?

NO.
Zombie Skin is ammonia free latex that can be sculpted directly on the skin. When you are working with Zombie Skin you can use it for prosthetic blending or to make on the go prosthetics it can be used right off a pallet and onto the skin

With Monster Paste you are making the prosthetic out of prosthetic adhesive. You need to have a mold to pre-make the prosthetic and then let it dry out or dehydrate. This is great for make many identical prosthetics for super fast application.

Zombie Skin and Monster Paste are great products and can be used together, but they both have a different place in your kit.

12

Can I apply Monster Paste directally to the skin and shape into a cut?

NO. you must use a mold.

13

Can I make my own molds?

Yes, but there are some guidelines for making molds that work well for 3D transfers.
There will be a video soon explaining.

Can you paint on the piece with wwater based body paint?

YES. we've painted with water based, hybrid and alcohol based paints and they have all worked great.

17

Can it be used on kids?

YES, however like most any Special FX products, you shouldn't use on small kids, I would say 8 years old and up. The piece will adhere to the skin strongly so removing it may feel like pulling off a Band-Aide, Use Baby oil to remove it.

will sweat weaken the Monster Paste Piece?

If you clean the skin with alcohol removing oils before applying the pieces will adhere very strongly and will not come off with sweat.

19

Do I need glue to stick down the Monster Paste piece?

NOPE. Because Monster Paste is made mostly of a prosthetic adhesive, once you press it to the skin and add water to release it from the transfer paper it adherers itself.

How many times can I use a peice?

Only once. there is no way to remove it with destroying it.

20

Do I have to know how to sculpt to use Monster Paste?

If you want to make your own molds yes. We have made it easy for you to start making your own pieces using Monster Paste by eliminating the cost, time knowledge and other aggravations in making your own molds. We have molds for sale and each month we will release 2 new molds so that you always have something new for your kit.

20

How many molds can I fill with 1 jar of Monster Paste?

Well, that's hard to say. We make our molds so that you can get 8-10 pieces out of a 1oz jar. It depends on how thick the sculpt is and how much paste you use. if you are making your own molds, mak sure your sculpts are under 1/4 inch high and around 4" x 4". When you first start off you will probably use more paste than is needed, I know I did. When you do a few you will notice that you wont have as much wasted paste.
